Microcarbon ferrochrome is an alloy of chromium and iron, containing elements such as carbon, silicon, and phosphorus.
Microcarbon ferrochromium is an important alloy additive in steelmaking.
Depending on the carbon content, ferrochrome includes high carbon ferrochrome (C: 4~8%), ferrochrome (C: 0.5~4%), low carbon ferrochrome (C: 0.15~0.50%), and micro carbon ferrochrome (C: 0.06) %), ultra-fine carbon ferrochromium (C≤0.03%).
1. Microcarbon ferrochromium is used as an alloying agent for circulating pearl steel, tool steel, and high-speed steel with high carbon content to improve the hardenability of the steel and increase the wear resistance and hardness of the steel.
2. Microcarbon ferrochromium is used as an additive in cast iron to improve the grindability and hardness of cast iron and at the same time make cast iron have good heat resistance;
3. Micro-carbon ferrochromium is used for the production of silicon-chromium alloys, medium, low and micro-carbon ferrochromium, and chromium-containing raw materials by slag-free method;
4. Microcarbon ferrochromium is used as chromium-containing raw material for electrolytic production of metallic chromium;
5. Microcarbon ferrochromium is used as raw material for smelting stainless steel by oxygen-blowing method.
