Manganese is a chemical element with the chemical symbol Mn. It is widely found in minerals, soil and water in nature. Manganese ingot is a metal material containing highly concentrated manganese. It is usually reduced by electrolysis of metallic manganese or manganese oxide ore. It has high hardness and strength and is widely used in the manufacture of stainless steel, casting and glass.

There are many methods for preparing manganese ingots, the most common of which is electrolysis, which is to electrochemically reduce solid manganese oxide ore or manganese iron ore in an electrolytic cell. In this process, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is used as an electrolyte to separate manganese and iron through electrolysis, and finally form a pure manganese ingot.
