Making ferrovanadium 50 involves reducing it in a couple of different ways, like using aluminothermic and electric aluminothermic methods. The electric aluminothermic process, which is carried out in tilting or straight cylinder furnaces, uses vanadium oxides (V2O3, V2O5) and aluminium as a reducing agent to produce ferrovanadium through high-temperature redox reactions.
