Vanadium is known to produce highly durable and thermally stable MC-type carbides, which exhibit superior resistance to abrasion compared to carbides derived from other elements. A higher vanadium content allows HSS grades to machine materials like composite woods, fiberglass, and high-temperature alloys more effectively.
