Application of metallic silicon in chemical production

Metallic silicon is widely used in chemical production. Here are some major areas:

1. Production of organosilicon compounds: Metal silicon can react with organic halides such as methyl chloride to generate organosilicon compounds, such as dimethyldichlorosilane. Organosilicon compounds have excellent high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, weather resistance and other properties, and are widely used in sealants, coatings, rubber and other fields.
2. Ceramic production: Metal silicon can be used as the main raw material for ceramic production, mixed with alumina, magnesium oxide and other raw materials, and sintered at high temperature to make ceramic products. Ceramics have high strength, high hardness, high wear resistance and other properties, and are widely used in aerospace, automotive, electronics and other fields.
3. Semiconductor materials: Pure Silicon Metal is used as a base material in the semiconductor industry. By doping with different elements, it can be made into N-type or P-type semiconductors, and then into electronic components such as integrated circuits and transistors.
