To reduce oxidation, plastic processing of pure tantalum is often performed at room temperature or below 500°C. Due to its high strength and poor ingot plasticity, tantalum alloy must first be cut at a temperature above 1200°C, and the subsequent processing technology is the same as that of pure tantalum.
