Tantalum wire is a filamentary tantalum material made from tantalum powder through plastic processing methods such as rolling and drawing. Tantalum wire is the largest used in the electronics industry and is mainly used for the anode lead of tantalum electrolytic capacitors.

There are two methods of manufacturing tantalum wire:
Powder metallurgy method:
The process flow is: raw material (tantalum powder) → mixing → forming → vertical melting → rotary forging → intermediate annealing → drawing → finished product annealing → quality inspection → packaging and storage.
Smelting method:
The process flow is: raw material (tantalum powder) → mixing → forming → pre-sintering → electron beam melting → precision forging → intermediate annealing → rotary forging → intermediate annealing → drawing → finished product annealing → quality inspection → packaging and storage.
Classification Of Ta Wire Alloy
Tantalum wire can be classified according to its chemical purity, performance, use and status.
Divided into 3 categories according to chemical purity: metallurgical tantalum wire, high-purity tantalum wire and ultra-high-purity tantalum wire.
According to performance, it is divided into 4 categories: chemical corrosion-resistant tantalum wire; high-temperature-resistant and high-strength tantalum wire; oxygen-resistant and brittle tantalum wire and capacitor tantalum wire.

Pure Ta Wire
Capacitor tantalum wire is divided into three categories according to its use: tantalum wire for solid tantalum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum wire for liquid tantalum electrolytic capacitor leads, and tantalum wire for capacitors with reliability indicators.
Capacitor tantalum wire is divided into three categories according to its state: soft state, semi-hard state and hard state.
