Silicon Ferro Alloy

       

Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of FeSi. The silicon content in ferrosilicon is usually between 70% and 75%, and the iron content is between 20% and 25%. Ferrosilicon has the characteristics of high melting point, not easy to oxidize, and corrosion resistance. Ferrosilicon also has a certain carbon-increasing effect. An appropriate amount of ferrosilicon can be added during the steelmaking process to increase the carbon content and obtain the desired performance.

Ferrosilicon is an important raw material in the steel industry. During the steel smelting process, ferrosilicon can be used as a reducing agent to reduce oxides in iron ore. In addition, ferrosilicon can also be used as a flux to adjust the silicon content in molten steel to obtain the desired steel properties. In addition to the steel industry, ferrosilicon can also be used to synthesize organic silicon compounds, manufacture cast iron, etc.
