Electric silicon thermal method to produce vanadium pentoxide

Electrosilicothermic method: 75% ferrosilicon and a small amount of aluminum are used as reducing agents for flake vanadium pentoxide. Qualified products are obtained through two stages of reduction and refining in an alkaline electric arc furnace. It is generally used for smelting ferrovanadium containing 40-60% vanadium. The recovery rate of vanadium can reach 98%, and the electricity consumption for refining each ton of ferrovanadium is about 1,600 kWh.

Aluminothermic method: Aluminum is used as a reducing agent, and the smelting is carried out by the bottom ignition method in the furnace drum with alkaline lining.
