Basic properties
Vanadium pentoxide is an orange-yellow powder with a purple-red luster when melted. Its melting point is 670℃ and its boiling point is 1750℃ (decomposition). The density of vanadium pentoxide is 3.35 g/mL. It is slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, but soluble in concentrated acids and alkalis.
