Electrolytic manganese flakes look like iron, in irregular flakes, hard and brittle, shiny on one side and rough on the other, silver-white to brown, and silver-gray after being processed into powder. It is easily oxidized in the air, dissolves and replaces hydrogen when encountering dilute acid, and can decompose water and release hydrogen when slightly above room temperature. Electrolytic manganese flakes are of high purity and can increase the hardness of alloy materials. They are widely used in electronics, chemicals, medicine, and alloy addition.
