High carbon silicon is an alloy of silicon and carbon, which is made by smelting a mixture of silicon, carbon and iron in an electric furnace.
High carbon silicon is mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent for steelmaking. It can improve the machinability, strength and wear resistance of steel and reduce the occurrence of surface defects. It is also used as a reducing agent in the production of silicon metal and other metals.
Features:
High carbon content: Generally, high carbon silicon contains 50% to 70% silicon and 10% to 25% carbon.
Good deoxidation and desulfurization performance: High carbon silicon can effectively remove impurities such as oxygen and sulfur in molten steel and improve the quality of steel.
Performs well in the steelmaking process: High carbon silicon can improve the mechanical properties, strength and hardness of steel.
