Classification of ferromanganese:

2 According to different carbon content, it is divided into: micro carbon ferromanganese: carbon is not more than 0.15%;
Low carbon ferromanganese: carbon greater than 0.15% to 0.7%;
Medium carbon ferromanganese: carbon is greater than 0.7% to 2.0%;
High carbon ferromanganese: carbon greater than 2.0% to 8.0%;
3 According to the different silicon and phosphorus content, it is divided into two groups: I and II.

High Carbon Ferro Manganese
Ferromanganese is widely used in the steel industry, foundry industry and other industrial production.
1. Steel industry: Ferromanganese is an essential deoxidizer and desulfurizer in the steelmaking industry. Good steel needs to be deoxidized and desulfurized during smelting, and the use of deoxidizers will greatly increase its cost. Therefore, ferromanganese is a cheap deoxidizer. Desulfurization refers to the removal of harmful substances such as sulfur in steel. , ferromanganese can achieve the purpose of desulfurization, effectively reduce the content of harmful elements in steel, and improve the quality of steel.

Low Carbon Ferro Manganese
In the steelmaking industry, approximately 3 to 5kg of 75% ferromanganese is consumed per ton of steel produced.
2. Foundry industry: Ferromanganese added to cast iron can be used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent for ductile iron, and can prevent the formation of carbides, promote the precipitation of graphite, greatly shorten the spheroidization time, and can also greatly reduce the form of impurities in molten iron, improving Cast iron quality, improve cast iron performance. It also reduces the blockage of the smelting furnace water inlet and effectively extends the service life of the smelting furnace.
3. Other industries: High-carbon ferromanganese or manganese alloys are used as reducing agents in the production of low-carbon ferroalloys in the ferroalloy industry. Ferromanganese powder can be used as a suspended phase in the mineral processing industry and as a coating for welding rods in the welding rod manufacturing industry; high manganese ferromanganese can be used in the electrical industry to prepare semiconductor pure manganese, and in the chemical industry can be used to manufacture manganese ketone, etc.
