Production method of magnesium ingots

There are two main ways to produce magnesium ingots: one is electrolysis and the other is smelting.
1. Electrolysis: The electrolysis method is one of the most common production methods. The symbiotic process is to produce magnesium ingots by electrolyzing magnesium salts. The specific method is: mix the magnesium salt solution with a binary mixture such as oxalic acid and magnesium chloride, and then place it in an electrolytic cell and energize it. Through the anode reaction, the magnesium ions are reduced to metallic magnesium, and finally a magnesium ingot is obtained.
2. Melting method: The melting method is another method for producing magnesium ingots. It is to mix magnesium ore and coke in a certain proportion and place them in an electric furnace for smelting. At high temperature, magnesium ore and coke react to produce metallic magnesium, which is then precipitated in the furnace to form a magnesium ingot. The final product is a magnesium ingot.
