The production process of magnesium powder mainly includes mechanical crushing method and atomization method. Mechanical crushing method mainly produces magnesium powder, magnesium chips, magnesium granules, etc. with larger particle size. Atomization method mainly produces magnesium powder with smaller particle size, which is mainly used in military industry and petroleum industry.

The main production equipment is divided into milling/cutting, chip breaking, granulation, screening, mixing and packaging according to the whole process line.

Milling process: The magnesium ingot is processed into long magnesium chips by milling machine;

Chip breaking process: The long magnesium chips processed by milling process are cut into short magnesium chips by chip breaker;

Granulation process: The magnesium chips are made into magnesium powder particles by granulator;

Screening process: The magnesium granules are divided into products of different particle sizes by screening machine, and the magnesium granules with particle size larger than a certain index are returned to the granulator for re-granulation;

Mixing process: If the magnesium powder needs to be passivated, CaO and silicone oil need to be mixed with magnesium granules by mixer.
