Effect Of Coke Drying Degree On Smelting High Carbon Ferrochrome

Industrial ferrochrome

When high-carbon ferrochrome manufacturers smelt high-carbon ferrochrome, they have requirements for the dryness of the coke. The main reasons are as follows:

Low Carbon Ferro Chrome

High Carbon Ferro Chrome Low Silicon

When wet coke is loaded into a closed furnace, it is easy to block the material tube and produce suspended material. When the material collapses, air will be brought in, and the pressure in the furnace will increase rapidly, which may cause an explosion accident.
Coke has large porosity, so it has strong water absorption. The fluctuation of moisture in coke first affects the accuracy of the fixed carbon ratio in the charge, and secondly, the evaporation of moisture also consumes heat. Especially when the material collapses, the wet material directly enters the crucible area and absorbs a large amount of heat, which increases power consumption.

After the wet coke is crushed, its powder often blocks the sieve holes or makes the sieve holes smaller. As a result, the coke powder cannot be screened out and the powder in the coke increases.
