Advantages and usage of silicon carbide

1. Silicon carbide has the advantages of high melting point, high wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, etc. It can be used as a refractory material, providing a more stable and reliable production environment for the foundry industry.
2. Silicon carbide can be used as the main raw material for casting sand, improving the strength, refractoriness and fluidity of casting sand, and helping to produce better quality and more stable castings.
3. Silicon carbide can also be used to make crucibles for melting metals or alloys, as well as other refractory materials in the metal smelting process.

Usage:
1. Used as a pretreatment agent, after the molten iron is smelted, 3-5 minutes before it is discharged from the furnace, the silicon slag in the furnace is scraped clean and added to the surface of the molten iron, and it can be discharged from the furnace after 2-3 minutes.
2. Used instead of ferrosilicon and carburizer, in the early stage of molten iron smelting, it is added to the bottom of the furnace together with the carburizer. The amount added is adjusted according to the furnace volume cost, and the recovery rate of silicon is 80%-95%.
3. Used as an inoculant, it can effectively play the role of inoculation treatment of thin-walled cast iron parts.
