What is the difference between niobium rod and other metal rods such as titanium rod?
The melting point of niobium rod (2468°C) is higher than that of titanium rod (melting point is about 1668°C). In terms of corrosion resistance, both are highly resistant to corrosion, but niobium is more resistant to corrosion in certain acids at room temperature.
Niobium is superconductive at low temperatures, while titanium rod does not have this property. In terms of density, niobium has a density of 8.57 g/cm³, while titanium has a lower density of 4.5 g/cm³.
In practical applications, niobium rods are often used in high temperature, high pressure and superconductivity fields, while titanium rods are more commonly used in aerospace, medical implants and marine applications due to their higher strength-to-weight ratio and excellent biocompatibility.
