high-silicon ferrosilicon
When the electrode is inserted deeper into the furnace material, the heat loss is less, the furnace temperature is high, the crucible is large, and the chemical reaction speed in the furnace is fast, so the amount of iron produced is large and the unit power consumption is low. On the contrary, when the electrode is inserted into the furnace material shallowly, there will be more ignition and collapse phenomena, large heat loss, low furnace temperature, and the reaction cannot fully proceed. Therefore, there will be no good technical and economic indicators.

Low titanium (high purity) ferrosilicon
The insertion depth of the electrode is mainly related to the type of smelting and the capacity of the furnace.
According to practical experience, smelting 75% ferrosilicon has a larger capacity

ultra-low carbon ferrosilicon
The electrode insertion depth of the furnace is generally 1000-1200 mm, and for smaller-capacity submersible furnaces, it is generally 700---1000 mm. The electrode insertion depth for larger-capacity submerged arc furnaces for smelting 45 ferrosilicon is generally 800---1000 mm, and for smaller-capacity furnaces, it is generally 500---800 mm.
