How to judge the quality of niobium rods?

The surface of cold-processed and annealed niobium rods should be free of cracks, folds, pores, metal and non-metallic inclusions, thick skin, residual lubricants, oxides and other contaminants.
The surface of hot-processed niobium rods should not have cracks, folds, thick skin and other defects that affect subsequent processing. Grooves with a depth not exceeding half the diameter tolerance are allowed on the surface of the rod.
Pits, abrasions, scratches, spiral stripes and slight forging marks formed during the straightening process are all acceptable.
In addition, the purity of niobium rods is also an important quality indicator. In applications requiring high quality and stable performance, niobium rods with higher purity are preferred.
