Raw material preparation: The silica ore is processed by crushing, screening and other processes to obtain the required silica powder. At the same time, pure carbon powder is prepared as a reducing agent, and a small amount of alumina is added as a catalyst.
High temperature reduction reaction: The mixture of silica powder and pure carbon powder is placed in an electric furnace or a coal-fired furnace for high temperature reduction reaction. At high temperature, the silicon dioxide in the silica reacts with carbon to produce metallic silicon and carbon dioxide.
Product processing: After the reaction is completed, the reaction product is condensed, separated and refined to obtain metallic silicon with higher purity.
