molybdenum sheet
The density of molybdenum is 10.2 g/cm3. Melting point 2610℃. Boiling point 5560℃. Molybdenum powder is pressed into a green body by isostatic pressure and sintered at about 2100°C, and thermally processed in the range of 870 to 1260°C. Molybdenum alloy plates, strips, foils, pipes, rods, wires and profiles can be produced through plastic processing. Adding different raw materials can also increase their strength and improve low-temperature plasticity.

The chemical properties of molybdenum are also very stable and will not be corroded by hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and alkali liquid, but will be corroded by nitric acid, aqua regia or hot concentrated sulfuric acid. Molybdenum is also an important additive element. Molybdenum can effectively accelerate solid strengthening at high temperatures, prevent chloride pitting corrosion, and improve anti-corrosion performance in reducing solutions.

The huge demand for oil has forced people to accelerate the exploitation of deep oil formations on land and in the ocean. Deep oil formations are often polluted by corrosive hydrogen disulfide, carbon dioxide and high chloride brine. Therefore, molybdenum containing 0.15% to 0.25% AISI 4100 series Cr-Mo steel is widely used. The improved 4140 series containing 0.4% to 0.6% molybdenum is the most resistant low alloy steel to sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and can be used in sour wells.
